Similarities and Differences between "Atman is Brahman" and the God I follow:
This is my feeble attempt to compare Hinduism to my beliefs. I apologize for offering an explanation of Hindu beliefs which are very difficult, if not impossible, for the western mind to comprehend but I find that there are similarities but huge differences. I admit that I am basing my understanding of Hindu concepts on the following and perhaps it is a total misrepresentation but I hope it is accurate and fair. I have seldom found an accurate description of what I believe, so I fear that this site may not portray Hinduism as you believe it.
One similarity seems to be the concept of  "ATMAN" and my understanding of "SOUL" and that it is IMMORTAL and ETERNAL.
Another is that the "physical body" we now inhabit is not ETERNAL.
I would agree with both those concepts but that ends the similarities.
I believe from the moment of conception I became body, soul and spirit. My body is temporary but my soul and spirit are eternal and I will receive from God a new body that my soul and spirit will inhabit. I (me, MrDave) will exist as I(me, MrDave) eternally forever. I also believe that about you and everyone who has ever been conceived even if never born.
My Bible teaches that God knows us even in the womb. That is why I oppose abortion.

BUT....where each person lives eternally is the QUESTION? It is why I created  this website. I believe every person will live, as themselves, FOREVER either WITH GOD or separated FROM GOD with no second chance to change from being separated to being with GOD. This life is OUR one chance to choose OUR Eternal destiny. In my beliefs, there is GOOD or BAD awaiting everyone. Through the grace of my GOD, He says everyone will get a chance to choose the GOOD result. Romans 1:20 - "the invisible things of Him are clearly seen....so that they are without excuse".
God said that, God will be our judge, God will show each individual that they had their chance, God will judge.
I fear for everyone I meet. I fear for the India families and children I love and God loves.
I do believe that animals have souls but the soul of the animal ceases to exist upon the death of the body. I do not believe vegetation or any non-living entity has a soul.
